Meet the founder
A seasoned event planner and author of the ultimate wedding planning guide for brides (with limited budgets) asking themselves, “Where do I even start?”
After getting engaged, I thought to myself, “Now what?”
I had stacks of wedding planning magazines, followed the trendiest wedding inspo accounts on Instagram, and my Pinterest boards were organized by event element (florals, invitations, desserts, etc.) Trust me, I had no shortage of ideas… but outside of gathering inspo and determining the overall formality and theme of your wedding; every article, blog, and industry expert tells you that Step 1 is to set a budget.
So I did — and poof. The excitement around what could be was quickly eclipsed by the sobering reality of how much everything costs.
The average wedding costs $30,000. That’s more than a downpayment on a house for most people. And as if that wasn’t mind-boggling enough, that budget quickly dwindles when you add up venue costs, rentals, florals, invitations and stationary… we haven’t even gotten to food or alcohol yet.
Luckily, I know a thing or two about event planning.
I had planned awards banquets for thousands of attendees featuring A-list celebrities, multi-day conferences for hundreds of people in the heart of New York, and even an annual fundraising event merging a motorcycle rally with toy donations for local children in need.
So, the Wedding Planning Guide was born. Back then, it featured a lot more chicken scratch notes and was housed in an overflowing binder of spreadsheets, checklists, and mood boards… but over the last 5+ years, I’ve refined and updated every single page and section so even a novice planner would find it easy to use.
This guide is a curation of all the advice I wish I had been given when I was planning my own wedding. A synthesized (but comprehensive) version of the thousands of books, guides, articles, blog posts, and tips shared by the industry’s most knowledgeable experts... I have sifted through it all, tried it, and am sharing what I know will make your planning process a success.
And now, I’m pleased to share it with you.
